Saving the Skyhook strives to bring the basketball blogosphere expert and unbiased reaction, thoughts, and analysis on the NBA.

There’s a method to our insatiable hoops appetite at StS.  We’re old school.  We take the game (too) seriously.  We’re swimming against the current of today’s typical sports media.  Only the game and anything that might legitimately affect it matter here.

You won’t get our take when a player goes on a one night, Rob Gronkowski-like bender after a big win.  You’ll only hear about Kobe Bryant’s divorce if he mentions it’s affecting his late game “heroics.” You’re sick of hearing that Jeremy Lin lives on Landry Fields’ couch, and so are we.

That’s not to say we won’t indulge our incessant flow of basketball related thoughts with spontaneous, off-the-cuff, and sometimes sarcastic posts.  Real stream of consciousness is a thinker’s best friend, and that’s especially true when it comes to writing.  Combine it with a life-encompassing zeal for the NBA, and informative, funny, and unexpected stuff can happen.

But we’re not TMZ, E!, or even ESPN.  We’re Saving the Skyhook, and we’re about actual basketball.  Only the truly obsessed and inflicted need continue on.  Welcome.
