Kendall Marshall Shines: Thoughts on the NBA for 1/4/14

  • What a night for young Kendall Marshall. Getting his first start since joining the Lakers a few days ago, Marshall excelled, scoring 20 points (8-12 FG), dishing out 15 assists, and grabbing 6 rebounds as the Lakers took care of the Jazz by a score of 110-99. Check out full highlights of his brilliant night below.

  • Thoughts and prayers go out to Ryan Anderson, who, as we saw last night, left the game on a stretcher after a collision with Gerald Wallace. He was being treated for a cervical stinger and stayed in Boston overnight. The big man had been playing great ball for the Pelicans and hopefully he can return soon. As of right now, there hasn’t been an update on his situation.

  • Gimme some Raptor news! Another win for the Raptors last night, as they went into Washington and got a big win against the Wizards. It was their fifth win in a row, and they’re now 8-2 over their last 10 games. With the Celtics losing again, the Raps now have a four game lead in the Atlantic division. The team has really picked it up since the Rudy Gay trade.

  • Oh, Knicks. Fresh off a huge win on the road over the Spurs, they had a chance to pick up another victory last night against the Rockets but fell apart in the closing minute. J.R. Smith pulled a “Bargnani,” firing a three with the game tied and just 17 seconds left on the clock. Smith did own up to his error, tweeting after the game that it was a “bone head play.”
