Steezus Flops: Thoughts on the NBA For 1/1/14

Welcome to Thoughts on the NBA, a new daily feature here at Saving the Skyhook. It will be a loosely formatted post featuring my thoughts – too long for tweets but too short for their own post – from the previous night’s NBA action.

  • Yesterday was not a good Jordan Crawford game. He went 3-15 including a number of ill-advised jumpers and also committed 3 turnovers. It continues a poor stretch of play for Crawford in the recent weeks. In the last five games for the C’s, Crawford is shooting just 38.5% from the floor (29.3% from three).
  • This was really cool from DeMarcus Cousins. It was another big game for the big man (17 points, 16 rebounds) as the Kings got a big win over the Rockets. It’s been a joy to watch Cousins this year, as he’s been having a dominant season.

  • The Trail Blazers and Thunder played a entertaining game last night, and they looked sharp as well. The Blazers’ red alternates are always great, and the Thunder pulled out their dark blue alternates. A lot of people are down on those Thunder jerseys, but I’m a fan.
  • Incredible put-back slam from Giannis here. He’s so much fun to watch, and will only get better as he continues to get plenty of playing time for the struggling Bucks. With the season essentially over (at least in terms of a possible playoff appearance), Giannis should be starting and playing 30-35 minutes a night the rest of the way.
