NBA D-League: Jarvis Varnado Puts Up Monster Game (Video)

A few months ago, Jarvis Varnado was playing for the eventual NBA champion Miami Heat. These days, he’s suiting up for the Iowa Energy of the NBA D-League.

Never able to get much run besides mop-up duty in the NBA, Varnado is dominating the D-League, averaging 15.3 points, 11.7 rebounds, and 5.8 (!) blocks per game.

The other night, he continued his strong start to the season, putting up his best game of the year. In a game the Energy ultimately lost to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Varnado put up 23 points, 20 rebounds and 7 blocks.

He scored in a variety of ways, showing off some nice post moves and getting a few buckets off offensive rebounds and put-backs. On the defensive end he was a beast, rejecting shot after shot.

Check out highlights of his big performance below.
