ICYMI: Suggested Basketball Reading From Across the Web

For the second night in a row, we got some great games out of match-ups that didn’t seem that promising on paper. First of all, the Philadelphia 76ers outlasted the Orlando Magic 126-125 in double-overtime, in a game that saw Aaron Afflalo drop 43 points and two rookies (Victor Oladipo and Michael Carter-Williams) get triple-doubles. The Pistons stunned the Heat, snapping their 10 game winning streak. Kevin Durant and company held off a furious 4th quarter challenge from the Kings. And then in the late game, the Warriors came storming back in the 4th quarter – outscoring the Raptors 42-15 in the period – to take home a victory. Another eight games are ready for us tonight, so get prepared by checking out today’s suggested basketball reading from across the web.

Serge Ibaka is a very good player. He’s one of the game’s better defensive big men – even if he does go for blocks too often – and has shown the ability to knock down open jumpers and score around the basket. But he’s not a guy that can really create his own shot, so it was no surprise when his numbers dropped following Russell Westbrook’s injury. Over at SB Nation’s Welcome to Loud City, Kevin Yeung looked at how Ibaka played offensively without Westbrook.
