Charlotte Bobcats forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist suffered a fractured left hand during their game against the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night.

Kidd-Gilchrist is already the third player to break his hand this week, following injuries to both Paul Pierce and Anthony Davis. The 6-7 forward is averaging 9.3 points and 5.4 rebounds, playing over 27 minutes per contest.

The 2012 No. 2 overall pick is in his second year in the league. As a rookie, he averaged 9 points and 5.8 rebounds, getting just under 26 minted per game.

Kidd-Gilchrist is one of the team’s best defenders, and his absence on the court will certainly be missed. The Bobcats have allowed just 95 points per 100 possessions with him on the court. The timetable of his recovery is currently unknown.
