Jrue Holiday’s Game-Winner Sends Pelicans Past Bulls in Triple OT (Video)

It took over 62 minutes and three overtimes of basketball, but a winner was finally decided in the Chicago Bulls (7-9) – New Orleans Pelicans (9-8) match-up on Monday night.

With the game knotted up at 128 and just 4.5 seconds remaining in the third overtime, Jrue Holiday delivered, once again, when his team needed him the most. The Pelicans inbounded the ball in the frontcourt, while Holiday started the play in the backcourt. After coming off a screen, Holliday was left wide-open behind the three-point line where he received the pass and took off toward the basket. He drove, absorbed the contact made by Taj Gibson and finished the play, giving the Pelicans a three-point lead with 2.6 ticks on the clock.

Those weren’t the only heroics the point guard provided on the night. With 3.9 seconds remaining in regulation, Holiday drained an 18-footer that tied the game at 103 and forced overtime. In the Pelicans 131-128 victory, the 23-year-old finished with a double-double, dropping 19 points and dishing out 12 assists.
