Pass of the Night: Manu Ginobili to Marco Belinelli (Video)

In a game marred by the injury of Marc Gasol, the San Antonio Spurs pulled away from the Memphis Grizzlies in the final 6 minutes to claim a 102-86 victory.

Early in the 2nd quarter, the Grizzlies lost Defensive Player of the Year and all-around brilliant center Marc Gasol to a knee injury. Coupled with a 14 point deficit going into halftime, it looked like the Grizzlies would be in for a long night. But in the third quarter, and early in the fourth, they battled back. With just over 6 minutes, Tony Allen hit a jumper to cut the Spurs lead to just one, but from then on it was all Spurs.

But to find the play of the game, and the Pass of the Night, we have to go back to that fateful 2nd quarter, just minutes after Gasol’s injury.

After stripping Ed Davis, Manu Ginobili picked up the ball and started the fast break the other way. After a few dribbles to wait for his teammates to get going, Ginobili spotted Marco Belinelli sprinting up the left wing. As Ginobili got to half court, he suddenly stopped, a fired a one-handed bounce pass Belinelli’s way. It slipped right under the arm of the Grizzlie’s unsuspecting defender, hitting Belinelli in stride for a dunk.

The beautiful feed was one of Ginobili’s 7 assists on the night, to go along with his 15 points and 5 rebounds.
