ICYMI: Suggested Basketball Reading From Across the Web

Last night was an entertaining one across the NBA landscape to be sure. We saw multiple games go down to the wire, including the Memphis Grizzlies holding off the Los Angeles Clippers thanks to big time performances from Zach Randolph (26 points, 15 rebounds) and Marc Gasol (23 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists). Tonight we only have five games on the docket, including Minnesota visiting Washington in what could be an exciting match-up. While you’re at work or school throughout the day, I’m sure you’ll have a few minutes where you’re pretty bored. So if you take that time to do some reading, why not check out today’s suggested basketball readings from across the web.

Wondering Why The Kings Won’t Give Isaiah Thomas His Due: By Noam Schiller (@noamschiller)

I would assume most people have heard of Isaiah Thomas. No not the former Pistons point guard, the guy who plays for the Sacramento Kings. You might remember him from college at Washington, or for being the last guy drafted three years ago, but if I had to guess, I’d say that’s about it for most casual fans. Now, it isn’t as if he’s going to make the All-Star team or anything, but he’s a very nice player. Over at Hardwood Paroxysm, Noam Schiller wrote about Thomas, and wondered why the Kings are reluctant to put their faith in him.

So, LeBron Has a Dirk-Step Now: By Kirk Goldsberry (@kirkgoldsberry)

Over the course of his illustrious career, Dirk Nowitzki has patented his one-legged, fadeaway jumper. It’s his signature shot, and is nearly impossible to defend because of his height and shooting ability. Recently, one player started copying the shot, which is bad news for the rest of the league. It’s bad news, because that man is LeBron James. Check out this piece from Kirk Goldsberry over at Grantland about LeBron’s new tool.
