Well, it would have made for a nice story. Two brothers, both in the NBA on the same team competing for a championship. Alas, the Golden State Warriors have announced the release of Seth Curry, the younger brother of emerging superstar Stephen Curry.
Curry, 23, was undrafted out of Duke University and underwent surgery on his knee/shin. The Warriors signed him to a non-guranteed deal in August. In six preseason games, the former Blue Devil star averaged 2.2 points and 1 assist in 7.2 minutes.
Curry graduated from Duke after a successful collegiate career. He averaged 17.5 points while shooting 46.5 percent from the field his senior season. While not as lethal of a shooter as his older brother, Seth shot 43.8 percent form beyond the arc that season as well.
What’s next for Seth Curry? Well, he can potentially attempt to work his way up to the NBA by playing with the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA Developmental League, or possibly decide to travel overseas to begin his professional basketball career.
