Happy Friday everybody. We are now upon the final weekend without some NBA regular season games to watch. This time next week we’ll be thinking about Thursday’s TNT games and preparing for a slate of weekend games. Today is also the last day of preseason games, as the league will take a break until Tuesday. But don’t worry, we’ll be here as always, with some good words to read. Here are today’s suggested basketball readings from across the web.
The Los Angeles Lakers appear to be in for a tough season, no matter when Kobe Bryant shows up. Back in 2008, the Lakers also seemed to be heading for a down year, but traded for Pau Gasol and kicked it into gear, eventually losing in the Finals to the Boston Celtics. Over at SB Nation’s Silver Screen and Roll, C.A. Clark wondered if this Lakers team could replicate that performance.

Leading the way for the Clippers will once again be Chris Paul, and he’ll be backed up by Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. As Hardwood Paroxysm’s Andrew Lynch writes, Jordan will need to be much improved if a deep playoff run is in the team’s future. Check out why, thinks Jordan is in a no-win situation this season.
