In a match-up between the only remaining undefeated team and the only team without a win (preseason is very important), the Chicago Bulls welcomed the Milwaukee Bucks into the United Center.
Thankfully for the Bulls players (and fans), Tom Thibodeau eased up on the minutes and only played his starters around 25 minutes. And it was more than enough, as the Bulls easily handled the Bucks, 105-84 to remain undefeated on their hunt for the vaunted preseason championship.
Leading the way for the Bulls, as they will most of the season, were Derrick Rose and Luol Deng. Early in the 1st quarter, the two teamed up for a very nice basket. After deflecting a pass from Brandon Knight, Luol Deng collected the ball and started off down the court, leading the fast break. As he dribbled down the middle of the court, Rose quickly filled the lane on his left. Near the Bucks’ free throw line, Deng slows up, which leads to both Bucks defenders in front of him to lunge towards him. With their attention focused on Deng, the two defenders lose sight of a streaking Rose, who sneaks in behind them. After leaving his feet, Deng dumps a bounce pass right in-between the two defenders, which finds Rose and leads to an easy two points.
Deng finished the night with 15 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals, while Rose led all scorers with 24 points and also added 4 assists.
