Luol Deng hasn’t played since Game 5 of the Bulls first round series against the Nets. Despite his absence, the Bulls were able to squeak out a Game 7 victory to move on to the second round.

Unfortunately for the Bulls, they will still be without Deng for the start of their second round series against the Heat. According to Nick Friedell of ESPN Chicago, Deng is officially out for Game 1 tonight against the Heat.

The more disconcerting news is that doctors still don’t know what exactly is wrong with the Bulls’ All-Star forward.

The Bulls’ chances of winning this series were slim-to-none with a healthy team, but without Deng, there’s no way Chicago can take down the dominant Heat.
