We’ve got several great games on tap for tonight, with an Eastern Conference showdown between the Chicago Bulls and the Boston Celtics taking place, as well as a big matchup in Dallas between the Orlando Magic and Dallas Mavericks. Let’s take a look at tonight’s schedule in the Association.
Indiana Pacers (14-19) at Atlanta Hawks (24-14) – 7:00 PM ET, Regional
The Hawks have surprised me lately by actually shooting good shots. They won a big road game at Utah the other night, and are clearly the better team in this matchup. Indiana has struggled after starting well, and it’ll be another tough task for them here.
Washington Wizards (9-25) at Charlotte Bobcats (12-21) – 7:00 PM ET, Regional
Wizards and Bobcats fans will be watching this one, but aside from that, probably not a game you’ll be looking at too much on the League Pass. The most intriguing aspect of this one is seeing if Washington can finally win a road game, as they are currently 0-17 away from the nation’s capital.
Milwaukee Bucks (13-21) at New Jersey Nets (10-26) – 7:00 PM ET, Regional
It might be hard for the Nets to focus with all these Carmelo Anthony trade talks, and even if they are focused, it’ll be hard to beat a Bucks’ team that is playing well. However, this is a potential letdown spot for Milwaukee, after giving the Heat all they wanted last night.
Philadelphia 76ers (15-21) at Detroit Pistons (11-24) – 7:30 PM ET, Regional
So the Pistons have also been entered into the Carmelo trade discussion, as they could be the third team in the deal. Who knows what to expect in this game, as both teams haven’t exactly been the model of consistency so far this season.
Memphis Grizzlies (17-19) at Oklahoma City Thunder (24-13) – 8:00 PM ET, Regional
A very underrated game here, as the Grizzlies knocked off the Thunder in their last meeting. I really like this Memphis team, and think that they could really make a push for one of the lower seeds in the West. The Thunder will be looking for payback though, and I think they get the job done in this one.
Boston Celtics (28-7) at Chicago Bulls (23-12) – 8:00 PM ET, NBA TV
Chicago is coming off a couple of bad losses, and really needs to find a way to win this one at home. There’s no doubt that this game will be all about defense, and it would surprise me if both teams reach the century mark in points.
Utah Jazz (24-13) at Houston Rockets (16-20) – 8:30 PM ET, Regional
This feels like a game that the Rockets could take advantage of early, and blow out the Jazz. But, considering that Utah got blown out at home against Atlanta a few nights ago, I don’t think there’s any way that Deron Williams lets that happen here.
Orlando Magic (24-12) at Dallas Mavericks (26-9) – 8:30 PM ET, Regional
Without Dirk Nowitzki, I just don’t know that the Mavs can beat this Magic team. And let’s not forget about the absence of Caron Butler either. The Mavs will struggle until Dirk is back healthy, and this could be a nice road win for Orlando.
What do you expect to see in tonight’s games?
